Lead Building Manager (Current NCSSC employees only)
This is an internal promotional position for current NC State Student Centers student employees.
Job Title: Lead Building Manager
Tier: 5
Location: Talley Student Union and Witherspoon Student Center
Supervision: Reports to Assistant Director of Operations & Student Development
Work Schedule: Shift-based; 8-20 hours per week between 7am and 1am; includes nights and weekends; special hours apply occasionally.
Compensation: Minimum starting wage $16.00/hr with opportunity for raises based on years of service within Campus Enterprises. In addition, Student Centers employees are eligible for an end-of-semester bonus up to $200.
Essential functions and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assist Assistant Director of Operations & Student Development with supervision such as scheduling, effective communication, and evaluations
- Assist in development of Building Managers team, including leadership development and team building
- Plan, coordinate, and lead mandatory bi-weekly staff meetings for Building Managers
- Assist in development of training materials for student employee positions including Building Manager and operations team staff
- Open the student centers each morning and close and secure the student centers each evening according to building hours of operation, paying particular attention to health and safety
- Monitor student centers to ensure safe and secure environment for all guests and clients
- Provide active and comprehensive management of the daily event schedule including event preparation, monitoring, and turn over process
- Communicate event and facility related information to various student centers staff
- Respond to and manage incidents, injuries, and crisis situations
- Supervise, develop, and train a staff of three to six students per shift
- Complete proper shift reports (injury reports, Building Manager report, “prepped and ready,” etc.)
- Train operations staff on proper setup, storage, and equipment handling techniques
- Maintain a high level of professionalism at all times
- Greet all clients of the student centers
- Work special events and perform other duties as assigned
- Remain in compliance with NC State Student Centers student employee policies and expectations at all times

Essential Qualifications
- Current NC State University student with a flexible schedule
- Demonstrate excellent customer service skills
- Ability to carry, push, pull, and roll up to 40 pounds
- Ability to work with and manage a team to serve a diverse population
- Elevated oral and written communication skills
- Willingness and ability to support other functions of NC State Student Centers
- Attend mandatory staff meetings, student employee orientation, and training sessions
